Description
IT Systems Engineer position with focus on cyberspace-IT project management and coordination.
Duties:
- Oversee applied research and experimentation projects.
- Charged with engineering projects that develop and implement next-generation IT tools, systems, and capabilities to aid DOD cyberspace operations.
- Coordinate with parties to ensure the mission effect is achieved and utilize technical expertise throughout to ensure a sound and secure delivery.
- Evaluate, develop, and deliver technical input to the systems engineering process.
- Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
- Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Oversee the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with other program personnel, Government overseers, and senior executives.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Analyze complex information and independently take appropriate actions to resolve problems.
- Provide engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners.
- Deliver briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers.
- Work complex research projects as a senior contributor and as part of an integrated research team.
- Design and deliver solutions.
Location: Columbia, MD
Qualifications:
- Possess an Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence Polygraph
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification (CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), CSSLP)
- Exposure to Cloud/AWS
- A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution
- Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF)
- Able to build systems from the ground up – network architecture/systems engineering
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $160,000. Final salary is commensurate upon education and applicable years of experience.
